The Printing Process

Selective Laser Sintering or SLS—creates tough and geometrically intricate components using a high-powered CO2 laser to fuse or sinter powdered thermoplastics. SLS production parts can be strong, water and air-tight, heat resistant, and made out of PA 2200 a white Nylon 12 material.

After 6-12 hours of printing, the machine is opened up to remove the cake.

Cake is transferred to the unpacking station.

The cake contains the 3D printed parts.

Once the cake’s temperature is below 40C (104 F) it can be broken apart.

The cake is broken apart and the parts appear.

Final parts are cleaned with glass media.
